How does the waitlist work for my event, and can I turn it off?
The waitlist is on by default. When a ticket type sells out, fans can join its waitlist, and if tickets come back we offer them in order. You don't have to do anything.
How it works
- A fan asks for 1 to 4 tickets. Joining is free.
- When tickets come back, we hold them for the first person whose request fits and email them. The subject starts "Tickets are held for you:".
- They buy at the normal price before the hold ends. If they don't, the tickets go to the next person.
- A hold also ends when sales close or the event starts.
- Tickets come back when you add more to a sold-out ticket type, or when a fan's unfinished checkout runs out.
Change the settings
- Open your event and go to the Waitlist tab.
- Turn Waitlist for sold-out tickets on or off. It saves as soon as you flip it.
- Under Hold tickets for, choose 1h, 4h, 12h or 24h. The default is 12 hours. Changing it affects new holds only.
Turning the waitlist off doesn't cancel holds already offered. They still stand.
What you see
For each ticket type: how many people are waiting, tickets wanted, offers out, and tickets bought from the waitlist. People on the waitlist lists each fan's Email, Qty, when they Joined, and their Status: Waiting, Offered until a time, Bought, Hold ended, Left or Removed.
Tap Remove to take someone off. They won't be offered tickets for this event.
Only the owner and admins can change the settings or remove people. Door staff can see the list.
Adding tickets
When you raise the quantity on a sold-out ticket type, people on the waitlist get those tickets first, in order. You can't lower the quantity below what's sold, in checkout, or held for the waitlist. The form tells you the lowest number you can set.
