Promoter links and commissions

Give the people who sell your tickets their own link, and they earn a commission you set on every ticket sold through it. Fans pay the same price either way.

Invite a promoter

  1. Go to Promoters and tap Invite a promoter.
  2. Type their Email and the Name they go by.
  3. Set their Commission as a percent of the ticket price, from 0.01 to 50, and choose the Events it applies to. The first time, you read and accept the commission terms here.
  4. Leave Email the invite on and tap Send invite. We email them the link, and you get it too, to send yourself.

The link works once and expires in 14 days. People on your own team can't be your promoters.

Set commission on an event

You can also set or change a promoter's rate from the event.

  1. Open the event, tap Edit event, and find Promoters.
  2. Turn on Turn on promoter commission for this event.
  3. Under Add a promoter, choose who, then under Commission is choose A percent of the ticket price or A flat amount per ticket and type the rate. It's never more than half the ticket price. Add a Total cap (optional) and Starts and Ends dates if you want.
  4. Tap Save offer. The card shows what a ticket earns at that rate.

Saving a new offer for a promoter who already has one ends the old offer. Sales already made keep the rate they were made at. End offer stops an offer without turning the event's commission off.

How sales are credited

  • A sale counts if the fan opened the promoter's link in the last 7 days. The last link they opened wins.
  • Free tickets earn nothing. A refunded ticket stops counting.
  • Promoters can't earn on tickets they buy themselves, and neither can anyone on your team.
  • Orders shows the promoter on each order, and you can filter by promoter.
  • Each event offers Download the statement (CSV).

Paying promoters

Promoter payouts are not switched on yet. The Promoters card says so: commission is worked out and shown, and nothing is taken from your sales for a promoter. We will tell you before we switch payouts on, and nothing below applies to a sale made before then.

Once they are on, this is how it works:

  • The commission comes out of your ticket price at the rate you set. The fan pays the same either way.
  • We take it from the sale at the time of sale. You never pay a promoter yourself.
  • We hold it in our own balance and pay the promoter after your event, never before. It is due 72 hours after the event ends.
  • We pay only from money that has cleared. If it hasn't cleared yet, we wait and try again. We can't promise a date.

Refunds, disputes and cancelled events

  • Before the promoter is paid. A refunded or disputed ticket earns no commission, and a partly refunded order earns less. That part goes back to you. If you cancel the event, all of it goes back to you.
  • After the promoter is paid. We don't take paid money back from a promoter. If a ticket is refunded or disputed afterwards, we deduct its commission from that promoter's next commission payment and pass on what we recover to you. If that promoter never earns again, they keep it.
  • If a promoter never sets up their payout account. If their Stripe account still isn't ready 90 days after payment was due, the commission goes back to you.

Tap Revoke on the Promoters page to stop someone's link crediting sales. What's already recorded stays.
